Ancient India:   In India, the   customs and rituals  were not developed  for   heaven or for attain divinity. Sometimes we may say so for  motivating the ordinary  men.  Ultimate  aims of these customs and rituals  are given  in such a way that the psychological, spiritual  and physical  comforts and benefits are given  sometimes directly , sometimes indirectly.  In short  if one analyses   each and every  aspects of the aacharas  it will become clear that, they are meant for psychological / physiological / family relations based / social bondage based or national integration based  benefits. Through the aacharas (applied spirituality) the ancient Indian Rushies could take the message to  one and all depending upon their level of understanding. How ever one should remember that the books  written  for the purpose have integrated approach. i.e.  They deal with  all the above parameters  directly or indirectly. Since many such parameters  are included in each  item, if the analyses are done only through the spiritual angle  the  whole thing  will get labeled as superstition. That is what is happening now for many of the aacharas.   If we go through  each of the Kalpa Saastra parts,  one can make  the doubt clear. But   the reader should have an open mind, rational and logical thinking  and the real scientific temper.  A mind, which is prepared to take good from everywhere in the world.  The book on Vishnu dharma saasra, written in Malayalam will be released by next month with all the contents and commentaries of the  one hundred chapters.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF IISH  FOR THE LAST THREE WEEKS:    From 19th of January, till 29th   a series of lecture programs were held in Arunachal Pradesh  with the active  collaboration of Government of Arunachal Pradesh . The total responsibility of the programs were  undertaken   by Vivekananda Kendra centre in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. The programs were held in   many schools, polytechniques, universities, temples, and also for the people from Kerala and   the originals from the respective districts of Arunachal Pradesh & Assam.  The outcome was beyond the level of  explanation . @ Programs were also organized in Trivandrum , NHC Mazhuvanchery.@ Lecture by Sri Suresh DYSP Kunnamkulam was organized in NHC,  @  the tube lights and fans sponsored by Sri. Dileep Menon have fixed and inaugurated. @ From this month onwards  the  iish publications will be sent for the monthly subscribers. @ through sevanam samarpanam project  half a dozen orphanages, mentally handicapped centers and schools were given the monthly contribution from IISH @ 14 video lectures have been uploaded in IISHTV,Including saastra 2009 Lectures, inthe website www.iish.org

Bring used good quality clothes for distributing to deserving people  and  books on any subjects  for displaying in iish library during the  Palakkad lecture. Arrangements for collection has been made, in Kotta maidanam.

SIVARATRI THEERTHAATANAM:  POSITVELY ATTEND THE FOUR DAY SIVARATRI THEERTHAADANAM  FROM 9TH  5.00 PM  TO 12TH  10.00 PM AT  MAZHUVANCHERY MAHADEVA TEMPLE, NEAR KECHERY, TRISSUR 680 501  FOR VIDYA DEVATHAA POOJA FOR STUDENTS + TECHNIQUES FOR LEARNING AND MEMORISING  ON 10TH & 11TH  AND PITHRU POOJA ON 12th , SIVARATRI DAY + OTHER RITUALS & POOJAS.

WHAT I SAW:  In every Parks in Chennai, there is  Yoga and soorya namaskaara  mandapam.  Hundreds of people practice yoga  in this mandapam right from 4.00 am in batches.  The  Chennai Corporation is ruled by DMK, which is supposed to be an anti hindu / atheist organization/ political party. But even they have  started accepting good from heritage.   A great vision  for taking good from  modern and ancient. Let us hope   Governments will  follow these foot steps.

 YOUR QUESTIONS AND MY ANSWERS:  
Hundreds of questions were asked by thousands of students from Arunachal Pradesh and Assam during my  lecture classes for them. Repeating/ writing these questions are impossible. Hence only the explanations/answers as the general explanation is given: why we say Indian culture  and heritage are  great ?:
There are many points to present here , but to cite a few points; the Indian culture integrates science & technology, it is open  for any critical evaluation, we have never told only our pathway/ book/ achaaryas/ god  are/  is correct, we never converted people to this culture but only taught them, the freedom was given for accepting and rejecting, we never had the fear of god but only devotion to god, we could establish unity in diversity, India is scientifically a spiritual nation, out of 200 civilizations existed only Indian civilization survived,  only here the   god is worshipped in masculine and feminine forms, we have 2000  foundation literature, 10,000 commentaries in Sanskrit and more than one lakh sub commentaries in vafious Indian and foreign languages, the   culture is not established on one god/one book/one pathway.  Everyone has the freedom to opt for any divine form, any subject of interest, any pathway of worship . It is clearly said those pathways  will lead to ultimate truth,   we never conquered other countries or religion with military force,  many invaders  tried to annihilate our culture which did not work. Our  mathematics, astronomy, health science, life science, physics, linguistics,  sociology, psychology,  management science, civil engineering, textiles technology, metallurgy,  ceramics and glass technology, town planning, vegetarian food, family relations, spiritual and applied spirituality  are  being  accepted and patented world over now. The  modern and ultra modern knowledge are getting  replaced world over by Indian  heritage knowledge in all the  spheres of life.   Our  living gurus are  blessing millions of  people world over, tens of thousands  come together  for bowing their head  in front of them for their blessings……these are few points  on the greatness of Indian heritage.
