THURSDAY MESSAGE 28TH JANUARY 2010 SERIES NO. 194
ANNCIENT INDIA: Vedas give only messages . so we call it as vedic messages. Absolutely no stories, no descriptions, no narrations, no event are mentioned. Here the good andbad are not given but only the good messages are given. The heaven and hell are not described and also the punyam or paapam (glory and sin) no reward or punishment for doing good or bad is mentioned anywhere in the Vedas. Only the messages , guidances, blessings, good pathways and comparison with the nature’s role in our karma and dharma. Vedas do have two important parameters. One the sruthi, the way of chanting and the message. Sruthi gives the effect on listening the Vedas on our nervous systems. It is advised to listen to veda mantra for pleace of mind, regulating blood circulation, heart beat, etc. this is applied like music therapy in the modern health science. Many people started listening the Vedas while driving th car or doing high tension work. We iish have brought all the 4 +1 vedas without copy right. They are also available in our website. www.iish.org

INDIAN MANAGEMENT PRINCIPLES THROUGH VIDUROPADESA: for protecting a clan / family we may have to give up a clan/ family member, for protecting a village/ society we may have to give up a clan/family, for protecting the nation we have to give up a village/ society, for getting moksha we may have to give up this world
SCIENTIFIC SUPERSTITION: without conducting any repeatable, reproducible and statistically evaluable studies telling that nothing will happen if you take food during eclipse itself is a superstition. Many people think that science can solve all the problem. One thing it is sure science cannot solve all the problems in the world. Many a times science may be correct, but scientists can go wrong.
WHAT I SAW AND HEARD: A Kerala minister was trying to prove that nothing will happen if one eats / drinks (to the students,) during eclipse. One need not bother whether it is good or bad / or correct or wrong. But the same minister should also try to prove that nothing will happen if one eats / drinks in day time in the middle east countries during the month of Ramadan.
SCIENTIFIC TEMPER: Scientific temper does not mean that protesting, challenging , hating and shouting against all the Indian values/ knowledge. Many intellectuals were thinking like that for the last many decades. However scientists have started realizing that there are many scientific facts in the ancient Indian wisdom. But not the so called politicians and pseudo intellectuals.
